The main festivities in San Roque are the Holly Week
and the Royal Fair.
In the fist you can walk along its streets and smell
the sweet scent of orange blossom and jasmine, and incense
during the Holy Week.
This festival was given the prestigious title of Events
of Andalusian Tourist Interest, reaching its climax
with the Good Friday processions when twelve floats
featuring the Twelve Stations of the Cross leave the
Saint Mary the Crowned Parish Church.
The other special festivity is the Royal Fair in August
should be visited when the town is teeming with people
dressed in colourful flamenco dresses, riding thoroughbred
horses, singing and dancing fandangos.
The people from San Roque are kind, friendly and fun-loving. |
